For me, if I have a place (mostly in my bathrooms) where there's a lot of loose junk that tends to accumulate, my solution is to buy a nice tray. It's one piece that can hold all the little stuff and voila, it looks like you're organized. The best part about this is that you can get these trays for very cheap and they don't need to be fancy to do their job.
This is the try I have on my dresser. Sort of my 'catch-all' for typical dresser things. More pictures of these kinds of trays in posts to come. In addition to managing my mess with trays, I have these tiny boxes that hold other miscellaneous items I don't want to be scattered about. And they're pretty!
I don't know about you, but I've never been able to get a handle on my belts. Especially in the last 5 years or so when big chunky belts have become more vogue. I found these couple belt hangers at the Container Store, and some of them are actually pretty nice.
But if you're like me and don't have a big enough closet, you'll have to find a solution for your belts/scarves that didn't involve hanging. I did this in a store I used to work at, to display some new belts that had come in. I think it works great, I simply wrapped my belts around a vase I had, and voila! Nice display piece, and it creates a place inside the vase you can keep a few more belts if you want!
It also works for scarves and headbands too, if you have a lot of them.
Thanks all for reading, more posts on organization to come, including the bathroom, kitchen, closets & maybe even garage...if I can get my own looking nice!
Oh my gosh, I LOVE the idea of putting the belts around a vase! Adorable!
