Baby Shower Invitations

I recently did a design set for a baby shower.  I think they turned out so cute, its great when the person being honored has a specific design sensibility, I really enjoyed creating these, they're a style I wouldn't normally go for but in the end I loved how they turned out!  Thanks to Alisha, my new favorite client for the work! :)

Beautiful Paper Prints

I'm just about to head into Chicago to meet up with a friend. Our objective today is to go on a trek all over the city and visit many delightful paper stores.  I'm so excited!  This got me thinking about beautiful paper designs I've seen recently.  I've shared some of them below, and don't miss the best one at the end...plantable paper!  Enjoy!

A beautiful find, an amazing 4-color screen print.  I love how the red birds stand out, this would go perfectly in my red & blue kitchen no?  Find it here.

Two pieces of large size paper that Paper Source produces or imports..not too clear on which.  But great designs, I love the simplicity of the silver & white.  Plus the large sized flowers in the bottom print.

Liberty of London, for Target

This week is really exciting!  It is the week that Liberty of London launched their line of products especially designed for Target.  How wonderful is it when a designer you love but can't afford, creates a line that incorporates their lovely aesthetic, but at prices you can afford!
*[As a side note, I really love that target does this!  They often take high end designers (Orla Keily, DwellStudio, Rachel Ashwell, and not to mention the clothes designers they've partnered with) and create a line available to regular people.  Well done Target.]*
Here's some of the promotion I've seen at Target stores, leading up to this week's launch.  Really intriguing and great use of their design style incorporated throughout the store.  They obviously wanted to make a splash with this launch.

What a way to bring in the spring season!  Here are some of the products I love best that have just released.  The patters Liberty of London uses are all the things I love; colorful, bright, whimsical shapes, all on fun products.  Beautiful!

Laser Cut Jewelry

One thing I've been seeing a lot of lately is laser cut jewelry.  I'm not sure if its because the technology has recently become more affordable for the masses, or having it done for you is cheaper...but I'm excited about it!  I am usually drawn to things that are cut with lasers since I pretty much love most pattern and precise lines. When I first got into scrapbooking you could buy the most precise paper die cuts done by lasers, they were always the most beautiful.  Think of the eiffel tower or something so perfectly cut out of paper, amazing.
Anyway, the neatest thing I've seen recently has been jewelry laser cut out of wood.  Check out these earrings by Molly M Designs.
This set of earrings is laser cut from birch, then layered on top of black suede, what a dynamic combo!  Check them out here.
Some of my other favorites, and what an eye for the layering off different textures and colors.  Really love this work.

She also does larger laser cuts of wood like this one, cut from bamboo.

There's also plenty of sellers on Etsy that sell jewelry like this, check out Henderson Dry Goods,  Nylon Sky, and Little Red Lantern.

Pillows, Pillows, Pillows!

Sometimes I wish for two things. 1. that I had more space in my house for pillows, more rooms, more couches, more beds etc.  2. that I wasn't so irritated by the pillows I do have which inevitably take over the bed and/or couch and then need to be removed in order for the bed/couch to be useful!  Pillows are something I have a love/hate relationship with because I think they are such an amazing accessory, but often I find them very tiresome to actually live with.

So I've contented myself, for now, with simply browsing & admiring beautiful pillows.  I found these at ferm Living.  They're so bright and colorful and I can just picture how the whole room would look if it were inspired by these pillows.
I found this pillow at UrbanOutfitters.com.  Reminds me of my great-grandmother's house, I can even conjure up the smell when I see these pillows.

Etsy has a wealth of sellers that have pillows in their shops, all hand made.  Here's my favorite one I've found, unique, bright.  Love it.  Made by Persnickety Home Designs

Fabulous Wallpaper

There's a small shop in MA that creates some of the most beautiful wallpaper I've ever seen called Nama Rococco. They only have a few lines, but I think all of them are excellent.

Everything at Nama Rococco is hand painted and hand screened.  Amazing!   The detail and hard work that must go into every order makes me want to get enough to paper my whole house.
As I think about what I want to do in the last bedroom in our house to be designed (bitter sweet) I think about wallpapering just one wall. I want it to be a neutral color with pops of color, similar to these.

Or maybe doing some splash of pattern/color in the closet, I like that idea a lot.

Perhaps I'll use this couture line of Nama Rococco's paper. Oh the choices!
