Since the invention of Pinterest, so many crafts have come to light!  I got in the mood again for some crafting and this Christmas I decided to do a few of them! We're having a baby!  Which has turned my mind towards decorating a baby's room, of  course. There's so much out there, I've been overwhelmed in a good way.  Here's what I know: 1. I recently did a design set for a baby shower.  I think they turned out so cute, its great when the person being honored has a specific design sensibility, I really enjoyed creating these, they're a style I wouldn't normally go for but in the end I loved how they turned out!  Thanks to Alisha, my new favorite client for the work! :)

I purchased this door about 3 years ago at an antique shop in Glen Ellyn.  I paid $10 for it, it's solid wood with white paint cracking off of it.  It is heavy, let me tell you.  It moved from my old apartment to our house, over the last 2 years we've decided to throw it away 2 times, but it never made it to the trash (thankfully!).  I love this door, but I really have NO idea what to do with it

The other day I stumbled upon this Etsy shop, and it is now become one of my favorites! Friday I abused my lunch plate at work so much it cracked in half.  It's a cute melamine plate (a set of 4 I bought a long time ago!) with a paint by number scene of various wood animal on each plate.  The set is pictured below. Sad things have happened to these plates.  Two still exist, one as I said, broke in half, you're definitely not supposed to microwave them although I did very often.

I've become a big fan of Orla Kiely in the last year or so.  Just over a year ago, she partnered with Target to produce a more inexpensive line of products including table cloths, cups, dishes etc. which you can preview here. The marketing people at Sony are geniuses.  I read that they used 70,000 liters of paint to shoot this commercial which is essentially them exploding paint all over and inside an old deserted building.  Yes, the music isn't as great as the previous commercial I showed and the clown is slightly creepy but still: beautiful colors and amazing idea!
